Making Care Knowledge More Visible and Connected

Knowledge and experience related to care in Turkey are growing every day. Academic studies, policy documents, theses, field reports, events, podcasts, and lived experiences all contribute to a richer understanding of care. Yet much of this knowledge remains fragmented, dispersed, and disconnected, making it difficult to understand care holistically or build a shared foundation for discussion.

The Turkey Care Library was created in response to this need.

We designed the library not simply as an archive that gathers existing resources, but as a living knowledge platform that helps us examine how care is discussed, which frameworks shape these discussions, and what remains invisible. Our aim is to bring together fragmented knowledge, read it through a relational lens, and create a shared reference space that supports a systems perspective on the care ecosystem.

The Turkey Care Library brings together:

  • Academic research and theses on care in Turkey
  • Policy and strategy documents
  • Foundational resources on the ethics of care
  • Events and podcasts
  • Lived experiences and personal narratives of care

This holistic approach highlights that care is not only a service sector or social policy issue, but also a profoundly relational, ethical, and structural matter. The care crisis is shaped not only by gaps in services, but also by how care is defined, who is expected to provide it, and which forms of knowledge are recognized and valued.

We see the Turkey Care Library not as a static archive, but as a continuously evolving and collectively interpreted knowledge commons. We invite researchers, civil society organizations, policymakers, caregivers, and anyone interested in care to contribute to and deepen our shared understanding of care.

Building a more just, visible, and transformative care future requires a strong and shared knowledge foundation.
