Ecosystem Building

Care grows through relationships. Strong care ecosystems emerge when people, organizations, institutions, and communities are able to learn from one another, build trust, and work toward shared goals. Our work creates spaces for dialogue, exchange, and collective learning across the care ecosystem. We bring together diverse actors, perspectives, and forms of knowledge to strengthen connections and explore new possibilities for collaboration. Lived experience plays a central role in these processes. By creating opportunities for meaningful participation and mutual learning, we contribute to ecosystems where relationships deepen, collective capacity grows, and new forms of care can emerge.

Care Ecosystem Mapping

Understanding care as an ecosystem means seeing it not as a collection of isolated services or institutions, but as a complex adaptive system shaped by ongoing interactions among people, communities, institutions, more-than-human beings, and the environment. The outcomes that emerge within this system are neither fully predictable nor entirely random. Past experiences, feedback loops, and social, economic, and environmental disruptions continuously reshape how care is organized and experienced. Our Care Ecosystem Mapping work explores these interconnections to better understand how care is provided, shared, governed, and sustained across different levels of society. The Care Ecosystem Map is an exploratory tool that makes visible the actors, relationships, and support structures that shape the care ecosystem in Türkiye, helping identify patterns, gaps, opportunities for collaboration, and pathways for systems change.

Care Community of Practice

The Care Studies Community is an open space for collective learning, dialogue, and connection for anyone interested in care. Through gatherings, discussions, workshops, and shared learning experiences, participants explore care from multiple perspectives while connecting with people across different sectors, professions, generations, and lived realities. The community brings together diverse experiences and forms of knowledge, creating opportunities to learn from one another and deepen our understanding of care in everyday life, organizations, public policy, and society. From students reflecting on care in university life to domestic workers, family caregivers, researchers, practitioners, and professionals working to transform care policies and practices, the community creates space for these experiences to meet and inform one another. By fostering relationships, shared inquiry, and collective reflection, we contribute to a growing culture that recognizes care not as a private concern, but as a shared social responsibility and a foundation for more just, connected, and sustainable futures.

The İhtimam Picnic

The İhtimam Picnic is an open gathering that celebrates care not only as responsibility, labor, or response to crisis, but also as connection, joy, playfulness, and being together. Taking place in public and outdoor spaces, the picnic creates opportunities for people to meet, share experiences, and build relationships in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We value creating spaces where conversations about care can naturally intertwine with games, laughter, food, and everyday moments. Through the İhtimam Picnic, we invite people to experience care as something that lives within daily life and community, opening space for encounters that are both lighthearted and meaningful while nurturing a culture of care together.
